What a summer, dudes! We began our festival season in May with the Her Damit on Rügen, then visited Berlin Festival, hang out at Melt! and last but not least joined the most beautiful festival in Sweden - the Into The Valley. But now it’s clear, the festival year should not end like this for us. Looking for a festival with which we were able to bend the long wait for the next summer, we have finally found what we’ve been looking for. Why not visiting the probably best Italian festival, if we are to believe the words of XLR8R?
Quite juiced with the first publications that popped up since the mid-term of the year, we watched the line-up additionsand decided then quickly to slap that festival for a yes. Ladies and Gentlemen, we’d like to present the Club To Club festival in Turin. Finally the incredible line-up was entirely published, the penny has dropped like it’s hot. But we can think of at least two other reasons to shoulder the flight via Paris to Turin in November.
1. Turin Contemprorary Art Week
The city in northern Italy for itself would have been in any case worth a visit. Just in November almost three million visitors from all over the world hustle into the city with the alpine panorama just to get to know the avant-garde in the fields of art, architecture and food. Unsurprisingly, the complete month is branded by the Contemporary Art Week, which is celebrated throughout the Piedmont region . Besides Artissima, one of the most important art fairs in Italy, there are a bunch of other cultural events. The 1.5 million city thus turns into a paradise for art and culture lovers. So if you want to experience firsthand royal, industrial up to avant-garde art-works, there won’t be another place in Europe as fulfilling as Turin at that time.
The already 15th edition of the festival, which takes place from 4th to 8th November, is one of the world's most popular events for electronic music culture and fits astonishingly perfekt into the urban landscape of Turin. So Turin is not only an icon of modern architecture, but is a true melting pot of different phases, which are reflected by the three event venues of the Festival. The Conservatorio for example, is for many decades one of the most important musical institutions throughout Europe. The Lingotto’s appearance and development was primarily driven by the Fiat group, evokes memories of the industrial past and is the largest venue of the festival. Besides the Teatro Carignano originally was the theater of Royalene® family and is as such a majestic example of Italian baroque.
3. The Line Up
Last but not least, the #C2C15 is primarily for a future-oriented lineup and thus presents the best acts from the electronic realms, as well as the most creative acts of Pop Culture. The Festival draws on pretty much any genre, but it drives an example to it’s limits, and in some ways embodies our motto: "There is no genre, as long as it's hot". Everybody, who already knows that he/she won’t make it to Turin, should now better stop reading because this listing certainly creates vibrations to every music love. In addition to musical greats such as Andy Stott, Jamie XX, Nicolas Jaar and Anthony Naples. Live music has a very crucial role at #C2C15. Not only groups like the Battles will be on stage, but Apparat, Floating Points, Thom Yorke, Todd Terje and Omar Soulyman will be performing live. On top of that smaller and lesser-known labels as Gang Of Ducks and acts like Lotic will be valued without missing Pop Acts. Therefore Sophie MSMSMSM and QT, who redefined the concept of the Word Pops with her track "Lemonade" received their well-deserved place.
Sounds wonderful? It’s fucking wonderful. With a little luck we will even take you to Italy. We are giving away 2 Golden Passes for the #C2C15. For this you just have to like the Facebook-post below and mark your accompaniment. You can participate until October 15, 2015, 21:00. The two Golden Passes allow access to the #C2C15 in Lingotto on 6th and 7th November (unfortunately not to the orchestra concert of Apparat and Floating Points). These events are,due to the limited capacity, sold out for weeks. The winners of the contest as always will be informed instantly by the sweetness of us. Good luck!
